The Crossroad: It Takes Time To Be There
What Do I Really Want Out of My Life?
What Should I Do with My Life? Does spending the next thirty years living the way I am now make me want to crawl back under the covers?
Do you often finding you self thinking "Oh,someday I'd love to...?"
Is there something you've always wanted to do but never dreamed it was possible? Open a bakery? Write a book? Compete in Ironman? Climb mountains? Volunteer at an animal rescue shelter? Launch a social enterprise? Built a foundation? Be a hospice volunteer? or even start baking pies for a business?
What is My Path?
It takes passion and courage to find our path. But there are also moments when you must be prepared to take a risk and a leap of faith.
Your own path is the path from nothingness, pathless. The path that you will CREATE. A path where there is no map and no right answer. Perhaps the scariest part is you are the only person who can decide what to do next.
It is both journey and destination.
What Is Your Prison?
Perhaps the most profound story I have ever read is this below:
How many of us are not even aware that we are in 'prison'. Prison from our mind, prison from our believe.
Elle Luna from her book "The Crossroads of Should and Must" said if we want to live the fullness of your life - if you want to be free - you must understand, first, why you are not free, what keeps you from being free.
We unconsciously imprison ourselves to avoid our fear. The prison we constructed from a lifetime believes what others think we should be. And this prison alienates us from our truest, most authentic selves.
And just as we create our own prison, we can set our self free.
When I think about my life so far and what’s to come, I realize how much I’m shaped by the questions I ask. We asked endless questions before we make the decision to choose our path. And before we realize it, the endless questions paralyzed us to even move forward.
How Do I Find My Path?
What If It Changes Over Time?
Would Choosing My Path Pay for My Living?
What If I Failed?
What If This is a Horrible Idea?
But perhaps the most important question we need to ask our self is
What is one thing I have done today that lead me to my path?
So Where Do We Go From Here?
We are never done. As long as we are still writing the book about ourselves and creating new chapters. So, the questions should never stop.
So go, chase your dreams, follow your heart. Know that in bringing your dreams to life, you are giving life and hope to yourself, and you bring something greater back into the world.
